Long Backgammon Tournament
Long Backgammon Tournament is a digital version of Long Backgammon (Tapa), the variant where both players move in the same direction and cannot form blocks of more than one checker. It's the choice for players who find Short Backgammon too blocking-heavy.
Each turn you roll two dice and move your checkers the corresponding number of points. You can't stack two of your own pieces on a single point — every checker is exposed. Hitting an opponent's checker sends it to the bar, and it must re-enter before any other moves. The win condition is bearing off all 15 checkers before your opponent does. Games typically run longer than Short Backgammon because defensive clustering is impossible.
Suited for players who already know the basic rules of backgammon and want the open-board variant, as well as beginners learning the game without the blocking meta. Tip: keep your checkers spread across the board rather than clustering — in Long Backgammon, concentration creates vulnerabilities, not safety.
